Wet Nose Animal Rescue Centre was opened in April 1999, as a registered non-profit organisation devoted to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of, abandoned, abused and neglected animals. We’re a right-to-life organisation, which means we don’t believe in euthanasia, except in the most extreme cases where an animal is suffering and it is in the best interests of the animal.
Every one of our 600 animals is loved and cared for until a loving home is found, no matter how long it takes. The dogs are walked daily and taken to exercise runs and the cats live in beautiful catteries where they’re spoiled with love and toys, and anything their little hearts’ desire. But these aren’t the only furbabies in our care; we also have a farm yard with all sorts of farm animals, including donkeys, and a stable yard with over 50 horses. We don’t receive any government or municipal funding of any kind and rely on the animal loving public for their survival.
Ultimately, we believe every animal deserves a second chance to love and be loved, which is why we fight for them, laugh and cry with them, and try to make sure that the joy outweighs the heartache.
